GOP EVOLUTION ON CLIMATE: Republican politicians are “getting more sensitive” to the issue of climate change as they’ve been educated on it in past few years, and they’re keen to engage in policy discussions to avoid a “pure regulatory disaster,” said Saxby Chambliss, the former Georgia Republican senator who chaired the Senate Agriculture Committee.
“Republicans understand that there is something going on there,” Chambliss told Abby in an interview, pointing to stronger hurricanes hitting the Southeast, tornadoes in the Midwest, and intense fires in the West.
