E&E News reports on the C3 Solutions energy summit, featuring quotes from Sec. Chris Wright, Representative Celeste Maloy, and Jarrod Agen, executive director of the National Energy Dominance Council.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright said Monday that congressional leaders may be closer to changing federal permitting laws than at any time in recent memory.
Wright, speaking at a C3 Solutions energy summit in Washington, argued that there is some bipartisan support for making projects easier to get built. He also called for changes to the National Environmental Policy Act, which he said has been weaponized.
“The chance of a real permitting reform bill is maybe higher than it’s ever been,” Wright said, referring to a slate of bills in Congress that could streamline requirements for energy infrastructure.
